Backyard gathering spaces
Concrete Patios Built by Our Summit Crew
A backyard space big enough for everyone, sloped so the rain heads for the grass.
A Patio Should Make You Want to Be Outside
The best patios we have poured are the ones families actually live on: birthday dinners stretched across two tables, a grill going in the corner, kids drawing with chalk while the adults talk. The patios that disappoint are usually too small for real life, or they were poured flat, so every storm leaves a puddle at the back door or, worse, sends water straight at the foundation and into the basement. Our crew starts by asking how you plan to use the space: how many people, where the grill goes, which way the door swings, whether you want shade from the house in the afternoon. Then we size and shape it around that. We read the yard with a level, note where the downspouts empty, and decide which way the slab should fall so water travels out to the lawn. The ground is excavated, crushed stone is packed in layers, and forms are staked with that fall built in. Most patios are poured about 4 inches thick, then finished the way you choose, broomed for grip, troweled smooth, or stamped and tinted to look like flagstone. Saw cuts follow the outline of the patio, and once the boards are gone we rake soil up to the edge so the grass can knit right in.
What Comes With Your Patio
Shape and finish are yours to choose. These parts are always part of it.
Planning around how you live
Sized for your tables, grill and traffic so the space never feels cramped.
Reading the yard
Level readings, downspout locations and low spots checked before layout.
Excavation and stone
Topsoil removed and crushed stone packed under the whole footprint.
Fall toward the lawn
Forms staked so storm water heads away from the house.
Your choice of finish
Broomed, smooth troweled, or stamped and tinted like stone.
Joints and backfill
A joint layout that fits the shape and edges restored for grass.
Building Your Patio, Start to Finish
Dream it up together
First we hear how the space will get used, then visit to measure, read the yard and plan the drainage.
Price it clearly
Square feet, inches of concrete, limestone depth, the finish and any demolition are all spelled out. Dig day brings excavation, tamping and forms.
Placing day
Concrete goes in, gets its finish and its saw cuts, then rests under curing blankets before the boards are pulled.
Why Families Love Our Patios
Sized for real gatherings
We plan around your table and guests, not a standard rectangle.
Dry by the back door
Every patio falls toward the lawn, so water stays away from the house.
Finish that suits the home
Broomed, smooth or stamped, chosen with your brick and trim in mind.
- Planned around your table
- Falls toward the lawn
- Stone base packed in layers
- Edges backfilled
